The basic English course consists of three hours of formal tuition each day from Monday to Friday. On your first day, we will discuss the amount of time you wish to spend on speaking & listening and on reading & writing. We will talk about whether you wish to learn formal grammar or if a more relaxed form of learning would be better for you.
Everyone learns in a different way. What is right for one person might be totally wrong for another. At the Lochcarron School you will be encouraged to learn English in the way that you like best, whether you are a total beginner or an advanced speaker. We believe that you will learn faster if you feel comfortable about the way you are learning.
Teaching material includes the use of up-to-date text books, TV, video and audio work and use of the internet. If time permits, there will also be a few visits to places of interest where you can learn more about British language and culture .
Apart from formal lessons each morning, you will be expected to do some directed self-study in the afternoons or evening. Other than that, your time will be free to combine learning English with enjoying a relaxing holiday in the Scottish Highlands!
